A general view of the Sir Moses Montefiore's windmil. lThe windmill was funded by the British Jewish philanthropist Moses Montefiore it was designed as a flour mill for the first Jewish neighborhood built outside the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem, on a hill directly across from Mount Zion.
